Meet Truckee

Hi! I'm Truckee! I'm a 7-year-old Golden Girl, and that makes me extremely loving and totally content when I'm close to my people. One of my favorite things is to sit for hours by your side. I actually thrive in a calm environment, they say!
In my litter I was the smallest one, but that made me nice and sweet and even somewhat passive -- which means I'm pretty much OK with everything!
I love to play with my bestest friend Snoopy! She's a black Lab who is also up for adoption through Summit Dog Rescue. You can see us playing together in the snow in my slideshow below.
As for me, I sleep next to Snoopy in a nice warm mud room inside the house, and I'll bark to let you know if I need to go out. That means I'm really smart!
I love treats and my Mom feeds me grain-free kibble to keep my skin nice and healthy.
I also LOVE walks. Guess what --- I can run up to 4 miles! I'm great off-leash and I will never leave your side.
I also love cats!
One of my biggest talents (and a career I'm very proud of) is keeping squirrels out of the yard.
If you give me a chewstick I'll be very content to work on it for awhile, and my Mom says I never do any chewing damage around the house. If there's cat food lying around I'll naturally take a nibble, but otherwise my Mom says I'm no problem at all. Mostly I'm happy when my people are happy!
I'm great with kids, but the kids I used to live with have all grown up now, so they're saying it would be good to reintroduce me to new kids.
Hey -- do you or anyone you know want to adopt us both? That would be totally super! That way Snoopy and I can exercise each other in the yard and continue enjoying our playtime together for a long, long time to come.
