About Us

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

We know our process is long, but a several week process (more or less) doesn't seem long in our minds when you are making a lifetime commitment to a new family member.
  • We also do not have the volunteer capacity to process everyone who applies, even though we so appreciate that they want to adopt, not every applicant is a good fit for one of our dogs. Go to FAQ page for more info and that way you won't be surprised by how our adoption process works.

  • We are not just any dog rescue.  We have a stringent approval process and a team of adoption coordinators who place our dogs. We don't believe in adopting lots of dogs into mediocre homes, rather we focus on careful, successful placements with support for our adopters and dogs.

Our adoption fee is $485 (unless otherwise stated). All our dogs are  vetted - i.e. spayed/neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPP,  microchipped and heartworm tested (and often tested for ehrlichia, and vaccinated for lepto and canine flu) .

Also, a  portion of every adoption fee goes to spay/neuter a pet  in need in underserved areas of  Colorado, Arkansas or Texas.
Our dogs are adopted with the remainder of their heartworm preventative.  And your dog will come with a Freedom Harness and leash. (Why a harness??) . You will be required to sign up with an SDR approved trainer and show proof of classes/private lessons, before your adoption contract is drawn up.
