Meet Sally
Meet Sally!
She's a cutie pie fluffball --- a super snuggly 9-month-old, 45-lb. Whoodle: a mix of Wheaten Terrier and Poodle. She's spayed, mostly housetrained and up to date on her doggie shots. Check out her adorable pics above with her foster sister, Piper.
Sally is a truly wonderful girl! She is all puppy and lacks impulse control. She loves to play with toys, her resident dog friends and the calmer cats in the house (cats that run, she will chase for fun).
Out on walks, on leash she needs consistent attention when bikes or dogs are present. She will require a larger training commitment. She'll need a fenced yard as she has a strong prey drive with rabbits and prairie dogs. For this reason, SDR is saying No Kids due to Sally's need for leash work.
Preference will be given to Boulder County applicants with a confident resident dog in their home who can be a doggie mentor for Sally.
Whoodles are expensive designer dogs and we have been flooded with applications from people who just want a rescue Whoodle. While we appreciate that, we are just looking for the right home for Sally, regardless of whether she's a designer dog or not.
Instead of filling out a lengthy application it might behoove folks to first write up a paragraph or two and submit it SDR at our email address: [email protected]. Please tell us about your lifestyle, why you think Sally would be a good fit, what your training experience is with dogs who are reactive on leash, your experience with Terriers, etc.
We are going to require whoever adopts Sally do an extensive training package with one of our approved trainers - and that package must be purchased before adoption. So please factor in that Sally will be $465 plus a training package that could run between $500 and $800.
