Meet River - adopted
Hi! I'm River! ...
I'm 7 months old and they say I'm a Swedish Lapphund mix, which makes me a ball of fluff and very special. The Sami people in northern Scandinavia raised my doggie ancestors to help them with their domesticated reindeer, and they call dogs of my type The Black Beauties of Norrland. My coat is low maintenance and weatherproof, and we Lapphund mixes are known for our endurance, agility, intelligence and independence. Not only that, but we make good pets. Some people think I am a chow mix... and that is possible too.
I love to play in the yard with my foster sibs, and I love all kinds of dog toys! I'm great with kitties and teens, and my foster mom says I'm lovely to walk (except for the bunnies, but we are working on that).
Here's what SDR has to say about me: "River is fully vetted and trustworthy with free roam in the house. He is medium energy, which is a nice level for most people. He can do a several mile hike but then he is snoozing for a few hours. He goes to daycare a few days a week at Cottonwood, and preference will be given to Boulder area applicants. He LOVES daycare and loves the pool at Cottonwood. He lives with teenager, 3 dogs and 3 cats at the moment... including 1 tiny little kitten, who he is gentle with."
For more info and/or to apply to adopt me, go to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Dog Application; then fill it out and send it in. A nice volunteer for Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
