Meet Rio - adopted
Meet Rio! - aka "Lover Boy," aka "Mr. Social, "Mr. Confident."
Do you need an office assistant? Someone to sit on your lap while you're on the computer?
Do you want a beautiful 18-month-old orange tabby who loves everyone he meets?
Then Rio is your guy and he would love nothing more than to be part of a loving home and family.
Rio was rescued from an impound in Texas where the cats have no chance of adoption.
He definitely loves attention - so he's not for the person who just wants an independent cat and would leave him home alone all day.
Rio follows his foster mom around the house, and when she talks to him he talks (meows) back. She thinks he might have some Siamese in him because he's such a delightfully chatty boy! ❤️
Here are a few of the things he loves:
Climbing his cat tree
Using his scratching post
Playing with All of his toys
Sleeping on beds
Looking out of windows at squirrels and birds
Belly rubs and snuggling with his people
Here's what Rio has to say: "My foster family wants you to know that I am a well-adjusted, sweet,18-month-old boy. I'm a cuddle expert with a very soft purr and I like to be wherever you are. I can get along with other gentle cats if you do a slow transition. I'm not sure about dogs yet."
An outdoor, safe cat enclosure would be great for him. (see Catopia or Catmando). Rio is neutered, litterbox trained, up to date on all vaccinations, weighs 9 lbs. and is 18 months old. Good with other gentle kitties, dogs unknown.
Please note - Rio is a door dasher - so we are requiring mature kids over 12 only.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Rio, go to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Kitty Application; then fill it out and send it in. A volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
