Meet Luna
Age: 9 months
Weight: Small - 12 lb.
Breed: Miniature Poodle
Details: Need a yard to play in; housetrained, spayed and vaccinated.
Meet Luna! Luna (and her brother Bruno) just arrived officially into SDR a few days ago and are now busy looking for their forever homes.
These puppies are beautiful, adorable Miniature Poodle puppy muffins (maybe Doodle mixes?). They do not have papers.
Luna (the girl) is super sweet and loves to be with her people. She currently is learning to live in a multi-dog/cat household, and doing really well. She follows you from room to room and will always be up for some snuggling with her people. She will alarm-bark at new people coming in but with a few treats and some appropriate human behavior, she warms up quickly. These pups are both amazing, but like most rescues need someone committed to training - they bark at new things on leash and will need people who are committed to working with them on leash skills and confidence around new people.
We think they will be better off separated just so their forever people can be devoted to working with them individually - as littermates can reinforce each other's less desirable behaviors.
We originally thought they will need a resident dog to give them confidence; however, if they are able to play or be with other dogs and have a social life, or have some other friendly, stable dogs in their life to model confident behavior, that could work as well.
Luna is petite and is good in her crate during the times her foster mom is away.
For sure, a yard is required! They love being out in the grass, sniffing and digging.
We require all our adopters work with a force-free trainer from our list. In addition, their adoption fee includes one session with our board member who is a certified professional trainer (among other certifications).
Email us for more information at [email protected], telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle; and also if you're interested in one or both puppies. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can.
