Meet Dorito

Hi! My name is Dorito! I'm new to SDR and my foster family is learning more about me everyday.

I'm a totally cool mix of Labrador Retriever and Australian Shepherd, which makes me really smart. Because I'm not a big dog, I might have another great breed in my ancestry.  And hey --- check out my golden wing ears, which a lot of folks say are my best feature!  Check out my slideshow below where you can see my wings, especially when I'm posing in profile. And I can curl my tongue when I'm eating cookies, too!

Not only am I a total cutie pie, I'm also a total snuggler! Since I came from a shelter in Texas, I'm so happy to have a nice warm house and I love to follow my foster parents wherever they go. Sometimes they even call me a shadow! I get a little nervous when they leave me alone but I am learning that they always come back and that I am safe with Summit Dog Rescue now. My forever family needs to understand that I have had many transitions in my short life, but that I am trying my hardest to be a brave little guy!

I love toys and I'm learning what I should chew on and what I shouldn't. Since I am so excited about this new awesome life, I would probably do best with a family who doesn't have small children. I am also learning all about this thing they call house-training and am mastering it pretty quickly for a young pup!

I will need lots of direction, socialization, and training but my foster family says I am going to make someone a super awesome pup. Is that you? Head on up to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Dog Application, fill it out and send it in. A nice volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
