Meet Daisy - courtesy post
Meet Daisy!
We're partnering up with her rescuer, a trainer in Taos, NM, who has stepped in to save this sweet little nubbin.
Daisy is about two years old and 12 lbs., and as you can tell she's cute as a bug. We think she might be a mix of Cavalier King Spaniel and Chihuahua with some possible Pekinese. (Daisy's sister, for instance, looks very Cavalier-ish, so we're guessing that for Daisy, too.)
She's the most perfect pup! She's mellow, kind, cuddly, playful, a good eater and easy to live with.
She enjoys playing with other dogs, especially medium to small dogs. She's good in a crate or a small and comfy room. She's up to date on her doggie shots and recently had an embarrassing bout of roundworms, now taken care of with medications. She's microchipped, and her spay appointment is set for December 6 --- sooner if possible.
Daisy is a bit fearful because she was neglected until recently, but this sweet little dudette warms up very quickly with predictable and safe people.
A fenced yard is a must for Daisy as she's tried to leave when frightened, and can be a bolt risk.
Off-leash hiking/walking is not recommended for her.
She does bark a bit to alert, and needs reassurance versus being sequestered from her person.
Daisy comes with a lifetime of behavior support and two free training sessions --- online or in person in Taos.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Daisy, send an email to us at [email protected], telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can. Thanks.

Disclaimer: The companion animal you are interested in is a courtesy post. Summit Dog Rescue often helps dogs and cats outside our organization to find their forever homes, and these are called "courtesy posts.” By courtesy posting pets from owners and other rescues, we offer our website (and sometimes email assistance) as a resouce to help their pet gain extra exposure. The pet’s bio comes directly from the owner or rescue, and we expect them to provide accurate information, to the best of their knowledge. Summit Dog Rescue in most cases has not met or evaluated these companion animals, so no information about a courtesy post dog or cat is guaranteed. We cannot accept responsibility for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by any courtesy post animals. Courtesy post pets are the sole responsibility of the owner and the adopter. In addition, SDR cannot take these pets in if the courtesy post adoption does not work out.
Also, although we occasionally might ask you to email us (if you’re interested in adopting a courtesy post pet), it’s just so we can help the owner or rescue connect with applicants. You’ll be adopting your new pet directly from the owner or the other rescue, not from Summit Dog Rescue. Please let us know if you’re comfortable with us sharing your information with the owner of the courtesy post pet.
