Meet Cowboy - Boulder area applicants only
NOTE: Cowboy is an awesome dog but he needs someone committed to training him, with prior herding dog experience. We're saying no cats and no birds in the household, please and thanks. Applicants need to be in the Boulder area to help us give his adopters support.
Please reach out to us by email before applying to adopt Cowboy: [email protected]. Thanks.

Meet Cowboy - one of the handsomest dogs we've seen in a long time!
He's a 50-lb. Aussie Shepherd mix male, and he's dog-friendly and people-friendly. He's unsure around kids, so Summit Dog Rescue is saying No Kids, please and thanks.
Because he's a herding dog, we're requiring adopters to have experience with herding dogs.
Also, he needs space to run and play in, so no apartments for this freedom-loving boy.
Preference given to adopter(s) with a resident dog in the home to play with.
Cowboy is neutered, up to date on his doggie shots and housetrained. He's untested around cats.
He's just arrived in Colorado and here's a great update from his foster mom:
"COWBOY’S ADVENTURES:
From Texas to the dirty dusty trails of Colorado!
My foster boy Cowboy is digging his hiking adventures thus far, not to mention his new best buddy Tobin and foster sisters Noche and Cohya!
He is the easiest foster I’ve ever had!
Well mannered as a Cowboy should be!
Loves the outdoors, house trained, a great snuggler, and handsome as hell!!
He is an Aussie/ Border mix and we think he is between 1 and 2 yrs old. Still has great puppy traits..
He truly is the sweetest Cowboy I know!"
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Cowboy, send an email of inquiry to [email protected]. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can.
