Meet CJ - adopted
Meet CJ Collins!
CJ is an 18-month-old Lab/Pyrenees mix born 1-3-19 and weighing 56 lb. He's neutered, microchipped and up to date on his doggie shots. He's heartworm-positive but is getting treatment, and we expect he'll soon be on the mend.
CJ loves life. He truly brings exuberance and joy to every aspect of his day. This guy has a lot of energy, so will need owners who will keep him busy and out of trouble.
Because of his high energy, Summit Dog Rescue is saying no kids under the age of 9 in his forever home, and no apartments for this energetic guy. Strong preference will be given to applicants who have a doggie friend for him in the home; and applicants must have a yard for him to run around in.
CJ's positive attitude is impressive given his rough background, and extends towards people, dogs, smells, activities, chews, and games with the possible exception of small spaces and being in his crate. He has come a long way with spending time in his crate, so we think with some time and patience he will likely be able to hang out there for longer periods.
His exuberance is sometimes overwhelming and can lead to spells of barking enthusiasm, which can typically be thwarted with an engaging activity or a peanut butter kong. He is working on some manners and has learned to sit, shake, make eye contact and lie down. He does have trouble focusing on training when outside because of his sheer excitement about his surroundings.
CJ has become fast friends with our other dog Ruby (the cream girl in some of the pics above). They're of a similar age and they love to play together endlessly. This has been a very good outlet for him in our home.
We know you will love CJ as much as we do and are excited to help him find his forever home.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt CJ, go to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Dog Application; then fill it out and send it in. A volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
