Meet Bobbi
Hi! I'm Bobbi! I'm a total teenage girl and looking for fun people to spend the rest of my life with!
I'm a 50-lb., one-year-old Lab mix — and Summit Dog Rescue thinks I might be part field lab and ready for a busy life ahead. I'm spayed, microchipped, housetrained, and up to date on my doggie shots.
I love to hike and would make a great running buddy—I can even drink out of a water bottle! Getting out for walkies makes me so happy and bouncy, and even better if I can take a dip in a creek while we’re out!
At home, I’m learning a lot of new stuff, like sit, shake, lie down, and pillow — which means that if I go to my special spot, I get lots of yummies! After our morning hike, I like to chill under my foster mom’s desk and keep her feet warm while she works during the day. When we take breaks in the back yard, I totally make fetch happen—just throw the toy, I’ll show you! I love to snuggle and get belly rubs and give kisses, too. My coat is super soft and shiny and pet-able. Don’t you want to rub my silky, soft ears?
Still a playful, goofy puppy, I’m a curious gal and will follow my nose anywhere interesting. I get really wiggly when my foster people come home, and they say I snort like a piggy when I get excited. Hey, who doesn’t love pigs? Their ears are delicious to chew on…
After I’ve had my morning exercise, I settle down really well. My foster mom says I sometimes sleep with all four paws in the air like I just don’t care, but I don’t know about this — I sleep really hard, so I’ve never seen it!
Some things I’m still working on are walking on a leash (look, there are a lot of great smells everywhere I go!), learning to wear a harness, and controlling my excitement when guests come to the house. My forever people will need to enjoy training — I’m a dog who will require consistency to help me learn. The good news is that my foster mom says I’m ridiculously smart and easy to train. I just love getting it right because that means I get more yummies! Please, teach me new things!
I play well with other dogs, which is super fun. My older foster brothers don’t play as much anymore, but I listen politely when they tell me, “No, thanks!” If my forever home has another dog, my rescuers think it should be a middle-aged, well-adjusted and trained friend to help show me the ropes. And you’ll need to have a yard with a 6-foot privacy fence and room to romp — have I mentioned I’m a total athlete?
I’m a pro at car rides — they’re super fun! — and crate trained. If you’re looking for an athletic girl for hiking, biking, running, or dog sports, and you like to train as much as I do, then I’m your girl!
For more info and/or to apply to adopt me, go to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Dog Application; then fill it out and send it in. A nice volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
