UPDATE 2-7-21: Benny may be pending adoption soon, but please email us if you're interested, telling us a bit about yourself and your living situation: [email protected]. Thanks.
---------------------------------------------------
Benny (aka Benjamin) is about 1-1/2 years old and a really great boy. He's housetrained, social with resident dog and cats. He is like a Sesame street character come to life... adorable, sweet and hard not to fall in love with.
We have never met a sweeter soul. He is a gentle, sweet guy who so yearns for love and touch. Watch his updates on our Instagram and Facebook pages. He is learning and growing ALL the time, thanks to our amazing behavior team that works with him daily. His strides have us all gobsmacked!!
This boy is one of the most incredible dogs we have ever rescued and we are looking for an extra special home for our beloved, big Benjamin.
Our dream home for him would be someplace in the mountains or a more quiet area on the plains where he could go for walks in nature or on quiet country roads. However, the right person in a suburban neighborhood could work too. Benny is doing fantastically well in his North Boulder home.
We regularly take him a few miles out of Boulder to rural areas and he enjoys sniffing, hiking and walking for miles. But he does enjoy walks in the neighbhorhood and not much phases him here now.
He is then happy to head home and snuggle up for long naps. At home he is pretty mellow.
He used to pull a LOT on leash and follow his nose but now he is learning nice leash walking skills and check-ins. Please check out our videos of him on Instagram.
Benny is a nice mix of mellow and active.
He loves to play with the resident dog in his foster home and go for nice walks with her. He enjoys being with his quiet people and will follow you from room to room, as long as you don't have a TV on or a big computer screen in that room. Fireworks and thunder scare him as well.
Despite his DNA showing him to be 32% Pyr, he is not much of a barker. He also enjoys being in the car and hanging out while you run errands (weather permitting). He is also part Labrador, German Shepherd, part Collie and part Pointer... we are guessing wirehaired? He does not shed, but please do not want him for that reason.
We are looking for an exceptional home that meets his unique needs. Television screens and large computer screens scare him, although he's okay with iPhones, iPads and laptops. As long as you have a designated area for your computer and TV that he doesn't need to go into, he will be fine. Right now they scare him and he won't enter a room that has a large computer screen on or TV on - so we are seeking a calm, quiet home with gentle, calm people who can be sensitive to his needs.
He is housetrained and gaining weight. His life before was tough and it's taking him time to adjust to life here.
PLEASE EMAIL US AND TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF, AND WE CAN SEE IF YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT POTENTIALLY: [email protected]
Please share our beautiful Benjamin.
** HE DOES COME WITH CONTINUED BEHAVIOR SUPPORT AND OUR TEAM WILL WORK WITH HIS ADOPTERS.
