Meet Bear
Hi! I'm Bear! I'm an 3-year-old 80 lb. Newfie, and I'm as gentle as a lamb and a true gentleman!
I happen to be missing a rear leg, but that makes me even more special -- and as you can see in my video above, that hasn't affected my fun runs. I love to play and explore this wonderful world!
My doggie superpower: Being there for you when life gets to be just too much. I was born knowing how to love!
Here's what my foster mom says:
"I have fallen in love! He does need help getting into a vehicle due to no jumping ability because of his missing back leg. But he went right into his crate, and we can work on practicing patience there. :) He travels well in the car. He's very cat friendly -- and is living with a kitty in his foster home. He seems to be very athletic but I haven't asked him for long distance walks more than about 1/4 of a mile so far. He loves the water and adores swimming in the creek on hot days."
Summit Dog Rescue wants you to know I've been tested for heartworm and I don't have any of that (yay!) and I'm Ehrlichia-positive, but they've put me on something called Doxycycline which is a great treatment.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt me, go to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Dog Application; then fill it out and send it in. A nice volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
