Meet Arlo - adopted
Dear Nice Person Looking for a Dog,
My name is Arlo! I'm a sweet, goofy guy who loves to play with toys. I especially love playing fetch, and if you throw my ball for me, we could be friends.
My friend Em says I am a true rescue. I was left outside, chained up during Hurricane Harvey --- remember that huge hurricane that hit the Gulf Coast of Texas? Well, I lived in Rockport, which is where it hit. A lot of people want a dog, but not everyone wants a real rescue. Luckily SDR took me and got me healthy. I was very sick after the hurricane, but I am completely 100 percent healthy now. Strong, big and my foster mom calls me "handsome and strapping!"
Despite the hurricane, I still love to be outside and enjoy sunning myself on the porch. I know how to be chill! Some noises that you might not notice do bug me though --- like ice falling out of the ice machine, or pans clattering. So a quieter home would be preferred.
I'm house trained, neutered and am such a good boy that I can be left alone unsupervised, and I'm very calm in the house. I enjoy hiking on trails and around the 'hood. I even can do a few miles if you are a runner. I love being in the car. I just lie down on the backseat and ride around with you. It's great fun!
I can sit, and I'm learning the dog door, too. I love to play at the dog park. I respond very well to clicker training and am a very smart boy. I have lived with dogs and cats and as long as they are friendly, I am happy to have dog friends. Horses freak me out a bit, but I think I could learn to like them if you are patient and give me time to get to know them.
I'm perfect for Colorado because I'm rugged but also sweet. Most of all, I want someone who will love me for who I am. If you can open your heart to me, and give me time to adjust to you and your home, I will be your lifelong companion. I will cherish you and love you until death do us part. But up until now, I have only found temporary people... and believe me, all the people I've met in Colorado have been super nice... but I still dream at night of finding my forever home, my forever person who will love me as their soulmate, and a piece of my heart becomes a piece of their heart, and vice versa. My heart is full and ready. I wish upon the stars at night that my person finds me soon.
Thanks for reading.
Love,
Arlo
P.S. My awesome foster mom has made these cool videos below of me at the dog park. I know how to come when you whistle and I LOVE to run!
And hey -- my other very cool foster mom took some pics of me in my Mountain Man persona in my slideshow above -- I love being at the top of a mountain with my peeps!
If you want more info and/or to apply to adopt me, go to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Dog Application; then fill it out and send it in. A nice volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
