Meet Amos
Howdy! My name is Amos – I’m a 6-1/2-year-old purebred Border Collie and I LOVE to play frisbee. (Did I say ‘love’? ‘Cause I meant LOVE.) I’m looking forward to being adopted by a person I can get to know and trust. I can’t wait to have someone I can do fun things with…and just hang out together. I like to chill in the shade after playing, too.
As a border collie, I’m smarter than the average guy. I take a little bit to warm up to new people (after all, who wouldn’t want to check someone out first), but I’m a very person-centered fella and enjoy the company of humans. I need an adopter who will understand that, if you let me take my time, I will be your friend for life. Within half an hour of meeting some new volunteers with Summit Dog Rescue, I was wagging my tail and taking treats. But know that I won’t jump in your lap immediately. I’m just too sophisticated for that. (Wink, wink. Tail wag.)
I’ve spent my whole life with one family, but then the toddler started making me nervous (I snapped once), and they decided I would be happier in a home without a little person. I’m now a little uncomfortable around children, so I would like an adult-(or older children)-only home. I am happy being the only dog, but if you are willing to take the time to help me get to know a doggie friend, that could be nice too. I used to have a doggie sister, but she passed away last year.
My ideal home would be a quiet place where I could relax, have a place to call my own, and find love and companionship after losing both my doggie friend and my family in the last few months. I am ready to move forward into my exciting next chapter and blossom into the guy I know I am!
The rescue people made sure I was up-to-date on all my shots, neutered, and house-trained. I am ready to pack my bags and head to your house if you want a handsome border collie gentleman to join your family. And…did I mention, I LOVE frisbee! I will be sure to bring my favorite floppy ‘bee with me.
