Meet Otis - courtesy post
Meet Otis!
His people are looking for a new home for Otis where he can be the only dog.
He's a 2-1/2-year-old Pittie who loves people and other animals. He's friendly with other dogs outside the house, and successfully plays in large groups of dogs, but he's having trouble sharing his person with the two older resident pups in the home, who've been there longer than he has. He really needs to be the only dog in the house.
Otis is SO LOVED and this decision has been heartbreaking for his family. They want him to have all the love and care he deserves, and in turn he'll shower his new people with unwavering loyalty and steadfast attention.
Otis had a rough start in life. He was brought to Colorado a year ago after being rescued out of an overcrowded Atlanta shelter (where he was held in the overflow space due to lack of kennels), so the public never even got to see him! Once here in Colorado he was immediately adopted by a wonderful family last November, and they truly adore him and want the best for him. But keeping all the dogs in the house separated isn't a long-term option, so the difficult decision has been made to rehome him.
Otis is a very handsome tawny color weighing about 65 lbs. He's neutered, housetrained and up to date on all his veterinary care.
He's highly trainable and a very smart boy, but he has some anxiety due to his stressful history. Otis would benefit from an experienced owner who can give him lots of lovies and provide a good anchoring energy for this sweet guy.
He's currently in Nederland, CO.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Otis, contact Laraine James either through Facebook, email: [email protected] or text: 985-713-1421.
Serious inquiries only, please and thanks.

Disclaimer: The companion animal you are interested in is a courtesy post. Summit Dog Rescue often helps dogs and cats outside our organization to find their forever homes, and these are called "courtesy posts.” By courtesy posting pets from owners and other rescues, we offer our website (and sometimes email assistance) as a resouce to help their pet gain extra exposure. The pet’s bio comes directly from the owner or rescue, and we expect them to provide accurate information, to the best of their knowledge. Summit Dog Rescue in most cases has not met or evaluated these companion animals, so no information about a courtesy post dog or cat is guaranteed. We cannot accept responsibility for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by any courtesy post animals. Courtesy post pets are the sole responsibility of the owner and the adopter. In addition, SDR cannot take these pets in if the courtesy post adoption does not work out.
Also, although we occasionally might ask you to email us (if you’re interested in adopting a courtesy post pet), it’s just so we can help the owner or rescue connect with applicants. You’ll be adopting your new pet directly from the owner or the other rescue, not from Summit Dog Rescue. Please let us know if you’re comfortable with us sharing your information with the owner of the courtesy post pet.
