Prong Collars and Choke Chains are used ONLY by trainers who use force, pain, bullying and inhumane methods to make a dog do what they want. These techniques do not teach the dog what you want them to do, but just makes them scared beings who live in fear of punishment (and who often develop worse behaviors like fear aggression due to the abuse).
We do not adopt to anyone who believes in or plans on ever doing punishment based/force training. And we will re-possess any SDR who we find is being trained with these methods as our contract explicitly forbids adopters from using pain and force in the training of their adopted SDR dog.
If your trainer believes in prong collars, choke chains, shock collars, force, pressure, or startle (pennies in a can, or chains in a bag) to train your dog then they are not approved SDR trainers. A good tip to follow is "A good trainer should really NEVER touch your dog". Sounds weird, but it is true. A trainer who is positive shouldn't be pulling, pushing, shoving, kicking, or really touching your dog. You'd be amazed at the results! Check out our videos to learn more.
