Meet Laney - courtesy post

Picture
Meet Laney!

Laney is an 18-month-old female spayed Sheepadoodle looking for adopters who can give her consistent training in a quiet environment. Her people are going through a change in their life situation and need to find her a great forever home where she can thrive.

She’s a smart girl who loves to learn and train. She was a star in her puppy classes! She loves to play with other dogs, go outside and run laps, and play catch. She also likes to just lie around and chill outside on the patio or in the yard.

Laney can be very sweet and likes to be near her people. Her groomer says she does great while being groomed.

Laney’s family says she’d be a great agility dog. She does amazing leaps off the patio and over bushes. She’ll do anything for cheese!

She knows how to sit while her person puts kibble around the room, then she’ll move only when she’s told “search.” She tends to be an alert barker, but with training she’ll learn how to relax.

Laney is spayed, up to date on her doggie shots and is crate-trained. She’ll go into her crate for a treat and sleeps every night in there. She was in her crate when her people came home after being away. She knows how to go to her “spot.”

Her trainer says Laney is quite the athlete who can be a great dog in the right environment with a handler experienced in herding breeds.

Laney will need structure and guidance to help her develop her best skills. She’s sweet and endearing and and would make a lovely companion in the right environment with adopters who can offer her focused stimulation/training, lots of opportunities to learn new things, and plenty of exercise.

SDR is saying No Kids under the age of 8, please and thanks. Laney will need stability and predictability in a quiet home, ideally with other friendly dogs to play with.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Laney, send an email of inquiry to SummitDogRescue@yahoo.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can. Thanks.
