Meet Hank - sweet as can be! Courtesy post

Meet Hank!

Hank is a sweet, healthy, affectionate and adorable 10-month-old puppy looking for a great new home. His breed mix is anyone's guess but we think he might be a Labrador/Staffy mix.

This boy is a real love. He follows his rescuer from room to room wanting connection with her and the other dogs in the house, and he especially loves her husband. When her husband is around, Hank’s tail wags so hard his whole rear end shakes! He just really likes to be around people and animals.

When the day is over, he settles down nicely and he loves his soft bed.

This sweet boy is just a puppy! He’s quickly learning his basic doggie skills like housetraining, crate-training and leash training, and his rescuer says he’s very good on a leash. He’s food-motivated and will sit when asked.

Hank was rescued from Kansas City, and his rescuer has kindly taken him in to help him find a great home. There are already two other dogs in the household so she can’t formally adopt him, but she will foster him there as long as is needed.

Hank has learned to use the dog door to go in and out. He loves to play with one of his foster dog sibs, and he’s done really well at doggie daycare. He hasn’t met a dog he doesn’t like! The daycare staff say he’s a role model citizen.

He loves to sleep in his crate, loves his chew toys, and he loves people. He’s neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He’s untested with cats and kids, so we’re saying (because of his puppy exuberance) no kids under the age of 10, please and thanks.

We think he’ll thrive with an adopter who can make him feel loved and give him good socialization, and take him on lots of adventures (hiking, long walks, road trips) with the stimulation he’ll need to become a Really Great Dog.

His adopter(s) will need to give him continued training with a force-free trainer, and we have a list of good trainers we can recommend. He’ll need active and loving adopters who can bond with him and spend a lot of time with him.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Hank, send us an email at [email protected], telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Disclaimer:  The companion animal you are interested in is a courtesy post. Summit Dog Rescue often helps dogs and cats outside our organization to find their forever homes, and these are called "courtesy posts.” By courtesy posting pets from owners and other rescues, we offer our website (and sometimes email assistance) as a resouce to help their pet gain extra exposure. The pet’s bio comes directly from the owner or rescue, and we expect them to provide accurate information, to the best of their knowledge. Summit Dog Rescue in most cases has not met or evaluated these companion animals, so no information about a courtesy post dog or cat is guaranteed. We cannot accept responsibility for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by any courtesy post animals. Courtesy post pets are the sole responsibility of the owner and the adopter. In addition, SDR cannot take these pets in if the courtesy post adoption does not work out.

Also, although we occasionally might ask you to email us (if you’re interested in adopting a courtesy post pet), it’s just so we can help the owner or rescue connect with applicants. You’ll be adopting your new pet directly from the owner or the other rescue, not from Summit Dog Rescue. Please let us know if you’re comfortable with us sharing your information with the owner of the courtesy post pet.
