Meet Zoey - courtesy post - adopted
Zoey needs a new home!
She is a 3-year-old French Bulldog. Zoey is a very happy, social girl who loves being around people and other pets. She knows basic commands like sit and shake, and she comes when called - excellent off leash! Such an amazing dog but unfortunately she recently suffered an injury which caused her back legs to stop working. Her current owner doesn’t know what happened. He says:
"Unfortunately she just recently got injured. I don't know how it happened. She was outside one day and when I brought her back in she was limping and couldn't walk. She was in a lot of pain so I took her to the vet to get her checked out, and they said she could have a disc in her back that got messed up and now it's pushing against the nerves on her legs and it's preventing her from walking. I’ve paid for laser therapy and pain and inflammation medicine but so far there are no signs of her getting better. She's a beautiful, loyal, amazing dog and she still has a long life ahead of her. I can't financially support her due to this injury so I'm hoping to find a loving and caring family that can rehab her and bring her back to 100% health. She's super energetic. She loves to run, and we've gone for miles on my skateboard and bike. She was a very happy and social dog before her injury. She loves being around people and other pets, she knows basic commands like sit and shake, she does really well when shes off leash, and she always comes when I call her name. She’s potty trained and she was very loved by me. I got her all her shots and kept up with her grooming needs. I really wish she wasn't injured and we could continue our lives together but I feel like now she deserves more attention and resources than I'm able to give her. I just ask that she goes to a great home with people who can love and care for her more than I can. Thank you and I really appreciate it!"
Lucky Day paid for a second vet visit and they said she does have feeling in her back legs, which is a good sign. She also had a positive response to deep pain perception, which is also positive. Dr. Applebee started acupuncture treatments and did some chiropractic work on her. She has five more sessions scheduled so time will tell.
We would love to see her go to a home where she can continue her rehab. If you are interested please go to www.luckydayrescue.org for an adoption application, or you can call Kelley at 970-379-4606 for more info.
Hoping someone can help sweet Zoey!
