Meet Sparky - courtesy post - adopted

Hi! I'm Sparky! I'm an 8-year-old Border Collie / Pointer mix girl and I'm looking for a new home.

I've been the beloved dog of my person for many years, but she had a bad accident and is now learning how to walk again -- which means she needs to find me a new home where I can go for long walks and hikes. I recently had a lapse of judgment and got in a fight with my younger doggie sister in our household, so Summit Dog Rescue is saying, "No other dogs in the home, please and thanks." They want me to be the star of the show wherever I go.

But hey -- I get along with every person I've ever met! I'm such a social girl and I love love love to play, snuggle and jump around in the yard -- especially with my toys! I'm great with kitties as I've been raised with lots of cats. I'm probably too energetic for young kids under the age of 12.

My specs:   I'm housetrained and spayed, I'm up to date on my doggie shots, and I know many basic dog behavior cues because I've been lucky and have had extensive professional training. My people say I know more than your average kindergartner.

I'd be perfect for a person or persons who are athletic and would love to welcome a high-energy girl into their home. Right now my awesome dog walker takes me on amazing hikes (he's the one in the pics above), so he's always a good resource if you need him. I've just got lots and lots of happy energy!

For more info and/or to apply to adopt me, go to the top toolbar and click Adopt, click Dog Application;  then fill it out and send it in. A nice volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
