Meet Shadow - courtesy post
UPDATE 6-30-24 from his rescuers: Shadow is our longest resident and we are suprised to say the least. Shadow does require an active home, children to play with or another doggy friend to run around with. He has been around cats with little no problems and gets along well with other dogs. He is crate trained and housebroken but will need an adjustment period. He’s silly and so much fun to be around. He is sure to keep you entertained and can’t wait to go on all kinds of adventures with you. He's such a good-looking boy and has a wonderful personality to match. He's active and would thrive with an active family or someone single who can take him on adventures. He keeps a fairly clean kennel, and his previous owner says that he is housebroken and crate trained. Shadow is good with other animals and would love a big brother or sister to run and play with or kiddos to keep him entertained. Won’t you consider adding this good boy to your family? LET'S FIND THIS BOY A HOME!!! PLEASE SHARE

Meet Shadow!
He's currently in a shelter in Arkansas, and when we found out about this great little guy we fell for him --- so much so that we're now stepping in to find him a great forever home.
He's about 10 months old, roughly 30 pounds, and will not get much bigger. He's half French Bulldog and half Catahoula: his mom was a Frenchy and his dad a Catahoula. French Bulldog mixes are desirable as they have fewer of the health concerns that can be seen with purebreds.
He was surrendered by his previous owners who were unable to give him good care. He's good with dogs, cats, kids, strangers and livestock. He was mostly an inside dog who got to free-roam when outside. He's housetrained, crate-trained, likes riding in cars and will chase a ball for as long as you'll throw it!
At the shelter he's part of their outside doggie play group. He's up to date on his shots, has tested negative for heartworm and is neutered.
He's a very active boy! He'll need a home with a yard or adopters who have an active lifestyle. He's very playful and will need an outlet for his young puppy energy.
Shadow can be food protective (given his history) and needs to be fed alone for now, but with training he may be able to overcome that. He's not possessive of toys.
Check out Shadow's exemplary behavior with a kitty on the stairs in his video above!

Disclaimer: The companion animal you are interested in is a courtesy post. Summit Dog Rescue often helps dogs and cats outside our organization to find their forever homes, and these are called "courtesy posts.” By courtesy posting pets from owners and other rescues, we offer our website (and sometimes email assistance) as a resouce to help their pet gain extra exposure. The pet’s bio comes directly from the owner or rescue, and we expect them to provide accurate information, to the best of their knowledge. Summit Dog Rescue in most cases has not met or evaluated these companion animals, so no information about a courtesy post dog or cat is guaranteed. We cannot accept responsibility for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by any courtesy post animals. Courtesy post pets are the sole responsibility of the owner and the adopter. In addition, SDR cannot take these pets in if the courtesy post adoption does not work out.
Also, although we occasionally might ask you to email us (if you’re interested in adopting a courtesy post pet), it’s just so we can help the owner or rescue connect with applicants. You’ll be adopting your new pet directly from the owner or the other rescue, not from Summit Dog Rescue. Please let us know if you’re comfortable with us sharing your information with the owner of the courtesy post pet.
