Meet Rey - courtesy post

Picture
From Rey's people:

"We have had to make the heartbreaking decision that it is time to re home our Aussie, Rey (like the Jedi.) She is a 20-month-old female Red Merle, who has a heart of gold and loves her family. She works and tries very hard. She is well trained and good mannered in many ways.

"However, despite all our best efforts with enrichment, training and management we have been unable to resolve her motion/leash reactivity and resource guarding issues. It really is the resource guarding that is our main concern as we have young children around. We love her with all our heart and have worked so hard, but we just can't take the risk with our family environment any longer.

"Which is why we are seeking to find her a forever home, with a family who understands how to work on these issues and has the right environment where she can thrive. Because she is such a good girl.

"She’s always been friendly and had positive interactions with other dogs off leash. While she has never lived with another dog, she has many dog friends in the neighborhood who she has play dates with, lots of Labs, a St. Bernard and even a mini-Aussie buddy she sees on walks. She visits and plays with them in back yards or in our open space nearby. And has never had any issues in those instances, she loves to play with other dogs.

"Rey is spayed, 100% house trained and is up to date on all her shots and well visits with the vet.

"Rey will need a home with an experienced Aussie/dog lover who only uses force free/positive reinforcement training. We are not in a hurry and only want to make sure we find Rey a home where she'll be loved for the rest of her life and in a healthy, safe environment for her."

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Rey, fill out an SDR Dog Application and send it in. Thanks.
