Meet Omelet - courtesy post
NOTE: We were asked by the good folks at Cottonwood Kennels, where Omelet is a staff favorite, to get the word out about her. She's a courtesy post dog (not an official SDR dog). Given her bite history we’d urge any adopters to consider working with an SDR-approved behavior consultant or vet behaviorist to create a behavior modification plan.

Meet Omelet!
She's a 2-year-old Husky/Pit mix (perhaps with some herding dog in her). She loves running beside a bicycle, hiking, rock-scrambling, playing with other dogs, and belly rubs from her favorite people. She’s looking for a home where she can get lots of exercise. We are willing to travel to get her there.
Omelet also has a bite history. She needs a firm, experienced owner who can maintain control with less than a moment’s notice.
A good owner for Omelet:
Why we're rehoming Omelet:
Hi, we're Omelet's people: Jill and Greg, and we live in Boulder County, Colorado. We adopted Omelet at 3 months old, and quickly learned she was unusually reactive and controlling of unfamiliar people coming into our home. We're put countless hours into her care and training with a highly competent trainer. We've learned to work with her, bike with her, set extremely clear boundaries, and help her calm down. At home with us she's a goofy, snuggly girl. It breaks our hearts, but she's much better suited to a quieter home with fewer people coming and going. We are so proud of the work we've accomplished and how far Omelet has come. We hope that all that work means she'll be the perfect dog for you.
Please think about adopting Omelet. We love her so much. We know you will, too. We love her so much. We know you will, too.

A good owner for Omelet:
- Understands Omelet has a bite history, resulting in a trip to the ER
- Understands she is a controlling dog, and can provide her with rock-solid control at all times so she doesn’t take matters into her own hands
- Doesn’t have children
- Doesn’t have older pets (~7+ years)
- Does not expect her to meet or socialize with people
- Can set firm, clear, consistent boundaries (she will test them)
- Is looking for a project
- Leads a very active life and wants an adventure/exercise buddy
- Is amazed by her incredible rock climbing ability
- Loves working with a very intelligent, challenging dog
