Meet Mardi Gras - courtesy post

Mardi Gras is a 1-year-old Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. She is 55 pounds, spayed, and fully up to date with all her shots.

Since she was 4 months old, she has been in training and is very well behaved in and around the house. Mardi loves to hang out with her people and is very chill. Both of her parents work from home, and Mardi sleeps and hangs out most of the day. After work, she likes to play a little with a tug toy or just running around outside, but then tends to chill again during dinner and before going to bed. When the owners leave the house, she is very well behaved and usually hangs out or sleeps.

While she loves people, she can be a little shy upon meeting new people for the first time. She also is very good with dogs she is familiar with, but with dogs she does not know or dogs that are reactive to her, she can become reactive and resource guard. This is especially true on walks when she is on a leash. She has been in specific individual and group training classes for this and is showing some improvement.

Her owners love her very much and simply want what’s best for her. In her current home she is in, she has a small yard and is in a neighborhood where the houses are very close together with a lot of different dogs in the neighborhood. The owners believe that the best environment for her is one with individuals who have some space in their yard as well as space between houses. She is a low energy dog, so would be content just hanging out around the house and outside in the yard.
