Meet Lucy - courtesy post - adopted

Lucy is a loveable approximately 1-year-old German Shepherd/American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She's spirited and loves people and dogs, loves off leash hikes and always keeps up with me. I have had her for 3 months and she's a delight. She formed a bond quickly and follows me around the house. She wants to please but many times finds it too much fun to counter surf, grab the first thing she can find and run past me to play Keep Away!

She was found as a stray in Houston, has been spayed, and is up to date on all her shots. She is incredibly healthy and happy.  She has a beautiful shiny black coat and tolerates me giving her baths outside.

Lucy would do well with another dog in the house to play with. She loves to play with energetic dogs and probably would enjoy a large family where she has a lot of stimulation and attention, although after a good  2 hour-long hike, she will sleep for 3 to 4 hours. She likes to chew at this stage in her life, and needs something to chew if not otherwise occupied.

I visualize her with a lot of space to run and explore. She loves her off-leash hikes in the mountains. She’ll roam far but always comes back. She is potty trained as long as she has a way to get outside. Lucy is engaging and smart. She knows basic commands and has good recall and loves her training sessions. She will mature into a very important member of your family.
