Meet Luca - courtesy post

Meet Luca -- an amazing and athletic tripod boy!

He's just under 2 years old and is likely an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix.

He was found last July on the Navajo Nation on the side of the road with a mangled leg and was rescued by a good samaritan.  He was rescued and his rear left leg was amputated, but it doesn't seem to bother him one bit. In fact, he's very fast and athletic and needs a family who can keep up!

His people say he's one of the very best dogs ever! He's very social and loves people, and he greets everyone with a wiggle.

Luca LOVES other dogs and would be amazing in a home with another dog who'd like to play with him. He's good with cats and currently lives with one, though he wants to play with her and she's not so into him.

He's very friendly and non aggressive, and he's house trained. He can barely jump which is a plus in terms of not being one to jump up on people. He doesn't seem to have any trauma triggers or things that he's worried about. In fact, people always comment "What a happy dog!" because he's so smiley and wiggly!

Luca would do best in a home with an active family who will take him to the dog park (his favorite), and on long walks and hikes. He loves chasing balls and frisbees and playing tug of war. He loves to be outside, so he would do best in a home with a fenced yard.

We're looking for loving, active, playful adopters for this sweet boy - and any adopters will be very lucky and happy to have him.

Boulder area applicants preferred. Please note:  A fenced-in yard is a must for this active boy.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Luca, send an email of inquiry to SummitDogRescue@yahoo.com, with a full description of your lifestyle and why you think you and Luca would be a good fit together. Thanks.
