Meet Lili - courtesy post
Two years ago a 10-week-old puppy named Lili was turned in to an animal shelter by her owners because they didn’t know how to deal with a blind dog.
A wonderful rescuer took her into his home with 15 other dogs, 3 of which were also blind. Within a few months, Lili’s eyes glazed over and began to swell, causing significant pain. Her eyes were subsequently removed to alleviate that pain, but Lili never missed a beat. She dealt with her blindness very well, running with the other dogs at the dog park, navigating the stairs in the house up and down, and playing with all her rescue siblings.
Lili has now grown up at the age of 2. She is 50-60 lb., very muscular and stocky, and a rambunctious girl. She is in good health with no health issues, up to date on all shots, heartworm-negative and crate-trained. She gets along with all dogs, including puppies, is highly trainable limited only by her enthusiasm, and does great meeting others, especially humans. She loves her humans! With her strength comes pulling on her leash on walks, which she needs work on.
Lili is looking for a new home at this time. Her human has been diagnosed with a very hard diagnosis that will require him to totally focus on himself making it through this upcoming time. Lili would make a fantastic addition to a home with the patience to continue her training.
Will our fellow rescuers help us find a new home for Lili?

Nightly routine... I'm just constantly amazed at a blind dogs abilities. No, she can't see 'shadows', both eyes had to be surgically removed
This ritual marks the end of the day - a blind dog cleaning the weeping eyes of another blind dog. Grahams blind eyes are not sewn shut, so they weep. Lili cleans them every night.
Can't a guy get a little shut-eye around here?.... #patientdog #blinddogmagnet
'Oh nuthin', just watching a blind Pitbull catching raindrops…'
