Meet Kenai - courtesy post

Picture
Age:             4-5 years old
Weight:       13 lb.
Breed:          Purebred Pomeranian
Details:        Good with kids age 9 or over;  not good with adult men

Meet Kenai! He's an adorable 13-lb., 4-5 year-old purebred Pomeranian boy looking for his forever home. Originally he came from a hoarding situation, but his people have taken him in and given him lots of attention and lovies.

He already knows Sit and Come;  also he's learning how to play with squeaky toys - and he loves car rides!

Kenai is housetrained, up to date on all his shots, sleeps in his kennel at night, and uses a doggie door to go in and out to the yard. He's a very loyal little guy and will protect his humans with alert-barking when he feels anxious or afraid, which sometimes shows up as a fear of adult men. He often feels it's his job to lie at your feet and be your guardian.

His family is working on an anti-anxiety medicine regimen for him and hope to find just the right combination soon with help from his vet. For now, though, his people are saying No Adult Men in the household, please and thanks, until Kenai can learn that most adult men are loving and good.

His adopters will need to commit to a patient training program to give Kenai confidence and an easy relationship with all kinds of people.

Kenai is great with kids over the age of 9. He's allowed on the furniture for sweet naps, and he loves to snuggle with you once he gets to know and trust you. He loves to be with his person but he's also content hanging out on his own.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Kenai, email us at SummitDogRescue@yahoo.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can.
