Meet beautiful Jolene - courtesy post - needs foster or adopter!
Let's save this sweet girl!
Meet Jolene: a 2- to 3-year-old Anatolian Shepherd. Due to no fault of her own, Jolene ended up in a rescue organization in another state, and is living her life in a cage. We're stepping in to help her rescuers find Jolene a great forever home. We're also look for a local foster home for her here in Colorado.
Jolene is spayed and up to date on her doggie shots and veterinary care.
You can see on her video how very beautiful and smart she is. She was living with her family, but they became irritated with her because she was afraid of thunderstorms. They took her to the vet and asked him to euthanize her. He refused - our hero! - and called the local rescue to save her life.
The rescue is a good one but they’re mainly focused on puppies. Jolene and other adult rescue dogs are in a terrible old building where someone comes daily to feed and clean, and that’s it.
She's been there awhile and it's upsetting to see her lingering there when she's such a great dog with so much to offer.
Summit Dog Rescue asks that potential fosters and adopters have prior experience with Livestock Guardian Dogs, especially Anatolians; and ideally live in a place with plenty of acreage for Jolene to run around in and have fun.
If you feel the call to foster or adopt Jolene, send us an email of inquiry to SummitDogRescue@yahoo.com describing a bit about yourself, your home situation, and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can.
