Meet Freya - courtesy post
Meet Freya!
She’s a really smart, special girl whose person is moving to New York, and he’s reached out to Summit Dog Rescue to help her find a loving home. For Freya’s sake, he’s looking for an adopter here in Colorado where Freya will get to be a happy mountain dog roaming around on hiking trails, swimming in lakes and getting to have the best doggie life ever.
Freya is 4 years old, extremely affectionate and well-behaved! She’s had a lot of experience living with other dogs and kitties, and she’s a former therapy dog at an alternative high school. She’s a very comforting presence to be around.
This gorgeous girl is very good on and off leash, never straying far from her home or her dog walker even when the opportunity arises. She comes when called and knows her basic doggie cues: Sit, Stay, Down, Come, and Load (into a car or crate). She also responds to whistles!
Freya is used to getting two longer walks a day and being let out in the yard a few times a day as well.
She responds very well to praise.
Her favorite activites include catching snowballs, playing tug-of-war, and playing with other dogs off-leash. She weighs 55 lbs., is quite healthy, microchipped and up to date on all her doggie shots.
Her adopter will need an enclosed backyard or some fenced land for Freya to run around in. This means no condos or apartments for this active outdoor-loving girl.
She comes with a kennel, two harnesses, two leashes, a sweater and rain jacket, dry food storage, food, water bowls, and canned food and treats.
Her person is happy to foster her until the right adopter is found.
The adoption fee for Freya has been waived, however we will ask that her adopter makes a donation to Summit Dog Rescue to help other dogs in need. If you have questions about this, we’ll be happy to talk with you. Thanks.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Freya, send us an email at [email protected], telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.
Also please read the Disclaimer below. Thanks.

Disclaimer: The companion animal you are interested in is a courtesy post. Summit Dog Rescue often helps dogs and cats outside our organization to find their forever homes, and these are called "courtesy posts.” By courtesy posting pets from owners and other rescues, we offer our website (and sometimes email assistance) as a resouce to help their pet gain extra exposure. The pet’s bio comes directly from the owner or rescue, and we expect them to provide accurate information, to the best of their knowledge. Summit Dog Rescue in most cases has not met or evaluated these companion animals, so no information about a courtesy post dog or cat is guaranteed. We cannot accept responsibility for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by any courtesy post animals. Courtesy post pets are the sole responsibility of the owner and the adopter. In addition, SDR cannot take these pets in if the courtesy post adoption does not work out.
Also, although we occasionally might ask you to email us (if you’re interested in adopting a courtesy post pet), it’s just so we can help the owner or rescue connect with applicants. You’ll be adopting your new pet directly from the owner or the other rescue, not from Summit Dog Rescue. Please let us know if you’re comfortable with us sharing your information with the owner of the courtesy post pet.
