Meet Breck!
He’s a 2-1/2-year-old, 85-lb. Silver Lab / Golden Doodle mix, and is a very unique and handsome-looking gentleman. Breck is housetrained, neutered and up to date on his doggie shots. He does have health insurance that might be able to transfer to his adopters.
Like many Retrievers, Breck loves to be active. He loves to play fetch, tug and toss his toys around. He loves being outside, taking walks, playing in the snow, running through tall grass and swimming in lakes or pools. Due to his gorgeous thick fur, he can get hot very easily and should be monitored if exercising or taking walks in warm weather.
Breck is a great road trip buddy! In the car he’ll normally curl up and take a nap.
He loves treats, his favorite being peanut butter out of a kong or cheese. He’s allergic to chicken so that should be kept out of his diet.
Breck is a bit nervous when meeting new people and dogs. He'll thrive on slow introductions and will come around once he's comfortable. He'd benefit from some training around new people and dogs.
Breck is not a barker. He’ll only bark to alert those around him to a person of interest.
He tends to shed a bit, so he’ll need regular brushing and grooming.
He knows his basic doggie training: sit, stay, shake, leave and come. He’d benefit from additional recall training and leash training as he’s very scent-driven and can get very focused on the interesting things his nose is picking up.
He has been crate-trained but that training will probably need to be refreshed. He’s been around small children a handful of times, but would benefit from a slow introduction to any small children he’ll be living with.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Breck, send an email of inquiry to SummitDogRescue@yahoo.com telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can.
