Meet Bentley - courtesy post

Bentley is a 2-1/2-year-old neutered male pit mix. He's up to date with all his medical procedures.

Our household recently took in Bentley as a foster pup. He is the best snuggler I know and he loves playing with other dogs! Unfortunately, he has nipped a few people. Never aggressively, but each time has been unprovoked and with strangers. The context of the bites was male strangers within the house. Twice the people were entering. Once the person was just walking around. We currently use a muzzle when anyone new enters. Once he is familiar with the person, he won't bite.

He is starting training at the Boulder Humane Society. So, hopefully we can find out the motivation for his aggression.

Everyone in the house (here in Boulder) is moving. Some to Denver and some out of the country. So, we are looking for a new home for Bentley. Since he has a bite history, the Humane Society (and any other non-profit we've contacted) cannot adopt him out.

We are in a serious bind because we all know how sweet this dog actually is. He lives with other dogs and gets along great. He also has been so absolutely loving towards us all in the house. Unfortunately, if we cannot find a new home for him, he'll get put down.
