Meet Bear

Picture
Bear Alert!

It’s summer, and we are all out on trails! If you’re hiking and see this adorable, adoptable baby bear (appropriately named Bear!), please say hi and tell your friends!

Bear is a 5-month-old Chow puppy, currently in foster care up by Nederland. (Wink, wink he is really a bear, but dont tell anyone, we don’t have a permit to place bears!)

Rescued before he was taken to the shelter, when his person could no longer care for him due to medical reasons… Bear flew to Colorado in a private plane with an amazing pilot with Pilots and Paws!

Little did they know they had a baby bear on board, masquerading as a dog!

Bear now spends his days hiking mountain trails during cool morning hours, and lounging around during the heat of the day.

He has been through two sessions of Puppy Club at Boulder Humane and had a blast! Everyone loved him! He’s a fun, outgoing guy who rolls with whatever is going on. They all knew he was a bear, but kept his secret! Thanks, Boulder Humane!

He’s still a baby, and we will require any adopter to work with us and also their own force-free trainer to ensure Bear continues to thrive and live his best life! All bears need positive training to be successful.

He would love a playful resident dog, but it’s not required. As long as he has dog friends… he will be happy. Or if you currently have a friendly bear, that would work!

He gets very hot, so an urban setting might not work for him. Urban bears tend to get into trouble.
