Meet Archie - courtesy post - adopted

Hello. I acquired a part Chihuahua/Russell two weeks ago. I discovered very quickly that I am allergic to him.  I need to find a home for him.

This breaks my heart, because I know he hasn’t had an easy life.  I got him from an 85 year old lady who adopted him 6 weeks prior from the Humane Society.  He is 4 years old, according to their calculations.  He’s neutered.  He’s got all his shots.  Weighs about 14 lbs.  His teeth look healthy and white.

This dog is loving, appreciative, a real people-pleaser and is a quick learner.  My theory is that he ended up a stray because he was a run-away.  I think he came from an abusive home.  He had been afraid to be picked up or held, but is now comfortable with that.  He really doesn’t know what toys are about, but prefers gentle wrestling.  He had been afraid to get into my car, but now hops right in.  When I return home, he greets me with an extremely uplifting “hello” – even when I just come back out of the bathroom!  He spins in circles!  I think he’d be best in a quiet home without children.

I feel horrible about having to relinquish him. I’ve already had him groomed, and the groomer gave me some tips on dealing with dander, but it’s still too much for me.

Thank you so very much!  My phone number is 970 381 9219
