Meet Norman - courtesy post
Our dog's trainer recommended your group to me. I am trying to help a friend re-home her dog, Norman --- a big, high-energy Pointer mix.
Norman is healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and has had some obedience training. He is 3 years old; she's had him since he was a puppy. He is about 70 lbs., a big frame, and is high energy. He is good with kids, not good with small dogs, and does well at day care. His only health "issue" is needing his anal glands expressed regularly. He doesn’t do well in an apartment, and he needs an active owner who can give him the attention and activity he needs.
The family is currently able to foster him (near Littleton) until a home is found, and the family can host a meet-and-greet with an interested adopter if needed. I've offered to pick him up and take him to a park for the meeting, too. (I'm in an apartment with two small dogs, so I can't take him.) We can provide vet records and any other info you need.
He was Pet of the Week at daycare recently, and this is what they had to say: “As a member of our active play group, he loves to have fun and make friends with the younger Guests, since they have enough energy to keep up with him. He enjoys playing chase with the Guest Attendants, as well as getting as much attention from them as possible. This Pointer is always smiling!"
Are you able to help us facilitate an adoption for him? We're glad to pay any donations for fees necessary. It sounds like his high-energy disposition might fit with your mission. Otherwise, if you have any advice on helping this sweet boy find a home, it would be greatly appreciated.
Norman really is a sweet dog--he will make someone very happy! It is breaking our hearts to adopt him out of our circle, but we know it's best for him. Thank you,
