Adios, Mexico! I’m Max, and I just got here via Southwest Airlines from Cancun!
I’m a handsome, smart, happy guy rescued from the streets of the Yucatán. Life was hard and I was lost in the midst of thousands of other lost dogs, but a group of ex-pats that live down there found me and saved me, and now I’m an official Summit Dog Rescue dog!
I’m just the right size at 40 lbs. I'm housetrained, fully vetted, great with dogs and people, and eager to learn about the trails, mountains and fun here in Colorado. I’m learning that life can be wonderful and filled with treats and toys and snuggles! Not only that, I’m bilingual if you want to spiff up your Spanish!
Some say I have movie star quality because of the way I pose for the camera — are we thinking Gael Garcia Bernal, maybe?
My foster mom is learning more about me every day, but for now SDR is saying No Cats as I find them just too fascinating. Here's some other stuff my foster mom is saying:
"The most impressive thing about Max is not so much what he does but what he is. Well, he is very cuddly, always giving hugs and always wanting to be right beside you, but he is so intelligent! And I have not had a foster dog that worked so well with my own dog. Max knows how to 'read' my dog. I would say his primary traits are Loyalty, Intelligence and Cuddly. He doesn't have any bad habits (after he stops marking the yard) like barking too much, whining, etc. Doesn't need a crate. He is very easy to get along with. We'll give him a bath soon and see how he likes that."
If you’d like to meet a handsome guy all the way from Cancun, go to the top toolbar, click Adopt, click Dog Application, then fill it out and send it in. A nice volunteer from Summit Dog Rescue will get back to you as soon as they can.
